Sevid is a small place in Middle Dalmatia, former fishing village located close to Trogir and Šibenik. It was named after St. Vid’s church, located on the southern slopes of Sevid, in Krč area. Fishermen from Rogoznica made a settlement around St. Vid’s church. Sevid is the perfect place for easygoing, quiet vacation. Untouched nature and clear clean blue sea make Sevid one of the top holiday spots in Croatia.
On the top of the hill you can still find remains of St. Vid’s church and in the bay of „Old Trogir“ there are remains of ancient Roman villa that served as a harbor to ancient Romans. Church of St. Ante was built on Planka Cape, honored by the seafarers who survived the maritime accident.
The surrounding area is full of Mediterranean vegetation, of secular vineyards and olive fields appropriate for relaxed walks or bike rides. Numerous nearby islands and islets are ideal for a boat trip.
This small resort, in a Mediterranean atmosphere, has everything what one needs for a comfortable and relaxed vacation.
How to arrive to Sevid: you can fly into Split (SPU) airport, the closest major airport (26 km) or take A1 highway, also known as „Dalmatina“. If arriving by plane consider renting a car to explore the area.
Trogir is a remarkable example of urban continuity. The orthogonal street plan of this island settlement dates back to the Hellenistic period and it was embellished by successive rulers with many fine public and domestic buildings and fortifications. Its beautiful Romanesque churches are complemented by the outstanding Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the Venetian period.
The story of Split is already 17 centuries old, dating to the time the Roman Emperor Diocletian decided to build his Palace right on the peninsula near the great Roman city Salona, where he wanted to spend the last years of his life. During these 1700 years the Palace slowly turned into a city, which to this day lures with its rich tradition, glorious history and beauty of its natural and cultural heritage. Diocletian Palace and the entire historical core of Split have been on the World
